Laminate flooring has evolved tremendously over the years and can often work in every room in the house nowadays. It's also seen in some sophisticated high-end homes where before only hardwood would do. Let's dive into why this has become a sought after material.
At Absolute Flooring Inc we know some might long for the look of hardwood, but sometimes it just isn’t possible. It might be wanted for installation in a room with higher-than-normal moisture levels where hardwood isn’t recommended. The answer is wood-look laminate flooring, a realistic and stylish material where many, including designers, can’t tell the difference from that and genuine wood.
Laminate comes in an almost unlimited number of colors, patterns, species, and designs. This material is a true-to-life mimic of wood, tile, or stone. It can even be cut into planks, to resemble hardwood boards or groutable tile-sized pieces. While planks are most often associated with hardwood, some use them when they want to mimic stone, especially marble, because the larger format and fewer seams are reminiscent of a quarry slab.
Embossing gives the floor added depth and dimension. Textured looks, such as wire-brushed, hand scraped, weathered, or distressed are available. The floors come in matte, gloss, or high-gloss finishes. With so many design options, the consumer can get every look, from farmhouse/ rustic and traditional to light, airy contemporary, and beach cottage to the fun and colorful retro.
