A Berber is more cost-effective than a cut loop pile. That's because the cut loop, as the name implies, features fibers that are both cut and looped. Since the Berber style is only a loop, the manufacturing process is simpler.
It is durable and easy to clean. Berber styles work with any decor and in the most formal living rooms to a casual family room. You’ll also often see it in offices and other commercial installations.
These include shags, often called “sheepdog rugs” and the frieze with its long, curly fibers. There’s also the cut pile called Saxony, which is what most people think of when they think of carpet. Saxony rugs have so many styles within that fashion group, it can work in any decor.
